The month of October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Each year during the month of October we host a basket raffle fundraiser. All proceeds are dedicated to fund and support the bereavement programs across Western New York. Our first basket raffle took place in 2014 and we have had one every year since we have been in existence.
Besides our basket raffles we host a multitude of other events throughout the year. We host a vendor and craft fair, working groups where we assemble memory boxes to be delivered to hospitals. We partner with local business such as Barnes and Noble (wrapping gifts for the holidays) and local restaurants such as Panera's. These business give us a portion of the proceeds that are raised on a specific date that is mutually agreed upon.
Butterfly Moon's Bottles for Books
Our organization has also partnered with Bottle Junction. You can help the earth by recycling and help Butterfly Moon raise funds to support families as well. Butterfly Moon uses the funds from recycling to purchase books for local hospitals and care facilities. Visit us on Facebook to find out locations.
What is our money used for?
Our goals are simple, they are to serve and to ensure that grieving families are taken care of and that hospitals can support them. To date the funds we have raised and the monies that have been donated to us have been used to purchase cuddle cots and all accessories(to date we have placed cuddle cots in Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Niagara Memorial Hospital and United Memorial in Batavia, NY), purchase supplies to create memory boxes, purchase all the items to go in memory boxes, purchase books for hospitals and care facilities. We have provided for families that were struggling to find the means to give their children a proper burial or service. We are striving to be present as much as we can in people's lives in order to make sure that they know they are not alone and that we care!
